Chiropractic

The nervous system is vital to every function and experience in your life, and it can become overwhelmed with constant daily physical, emotional, and environmental stressors. That stress creates interferences that may render parts of the body less able to adapt and function as they should, leading to pain, dysfunction, and illness. The chiropractic adjustment can be a powerful way to restore and support crucial processes by clearing the disconnect within our body’s natural messaging system– allowing the body’s innate intelligence to work towards healing. With your body as the compass, we tailor adjustment style and technique to support what your body needs in that moment. DIVERSIFIED TECHNIQUE

One of the most commonly used chiropractic techniques, Diversified is the adjusting style you probably think of when you think “chiropractic”.  It’s a tried-and-true manual method used to remove subluxations using precise, high-velocity, low-amplitude thrusts to the affected vertebral segments to restore proper nervous system alignment in the spine and extremities. It’s a safe and effective way to:

  • alleviate pain

  • improve mobility

  • restore proper joint movement

  • correct musculoskeletal imbalances

  • improve nervous system function

  • enhance overall health and healing

THOMPSON DROP TECHNIQUE

Thompson Drop Technique is an advanced method that uses a specially designed table that can be raised and then dropped slightly with thrust, allowing gravity to help with the adjustment.

This can make certain adjustments more comfortable and reduce the force needed, making it more comfortable for elderly patients, those with acute pain, or if this is their first experience with chiropractic and are feeling apprehensive.  â€‹â€‹

ACTIVATOR TECHNIQUE

One of the most widely researched techniques, the activator technique uses instrument adjusting to deliver a low-force adjustment at very specific, localized points.

It’s ideal for infants, young children, patients with ligament laxity, connective tissue disorders, or osteoporosis, or patients who are looking for a more gentle adjustment.

Soft Tissue Techniques

IASTM

Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization is a therapeutic modality used to treat soft tissue dysfunction. It targets muscles, tendons, and fascial restrictions using special tools to apply controlled pressure, breaking up adhesions and increasing blood flow to the area to promote healing–especially helpful for athletes and fitness enthusiasts.

Benefits include reduced pain and inflammation, increased blood and lymph flow, improved range of motion, less muscle soreness, better sleep, and faster healing. IASTM is effective in treating:

  • tendonitis

  • muscle strain

  • arthritis

  • chronic tension

  • tennis elbow

  • plantar fasciitis

  • sciatica

  • carpal tunnel

  • sports injuries

  • muscle and tendon injuries

  • frozen shoulder

  • tension headaches

  • fibromyalgia

NEUROMUSCULAR THERAPIES

Trigger Point Release and Myofascial Release are Neuromuscular Therapy techniques that specifically treat the muscles, connective tissue (fascia), and the nerves that control them. Trigger points, sometimes referred to as “knots,” are hyperirritable spots within your muscles and fascia that can cause pain and dysfunction. Trigger points can feel like localized pain, tenderness, or stiffness, or can present as referred pain in other parts of the body. Trigger points can develop as a result of overuse, injury, poor posture, structural imbalance/poor mechanics, biochemical factors like deficiencies, stress, or repetitive motion due to occupation or hobby.

Trigger Point Release and Myofascial Release are effective in treating:

  • TMJ

  • autonomic dysfunction

  • pelvic pain

  • shoulder and knee conditions

  • pregnancy-related discomfort

  • improve mobility

  • promote overall well-being

  • tinnitus

  • osteoarthritis
